iPhone X has been one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year. Being the so called most powerful iPhone ever to exist, it has been the talk of the town ever since the day it was introduced in the iPhone 8 Keynote event and people have been eagerly waiting to have it.
After weeks of non-stop discussions, the wait is over! iPhone X has finally arrived and is stealing the show. People are finally getting to use the cool features it brings along. One of the most sought after features of iPhone X is the Face ID. While it is primarily meant to unlock the iPhone X, turns out that the latter will have many other interesting use cases. As a matter of fact, it will replace the Touch ID in all the applications it used to have in the previous iDevices. As it turns out, you can also use Face ID when you purchase some app on your device from the App Store. Let's see how!
How To Validate Payments Via Face ID
Before you start using this handy feature, you will have to enable Face ID in your iPhone settings. To do that, follow these steps.
Launch the Settings app on your iPhone X.
From the list that appears, select Face ID & Passcode.
Enter your existing passcode as you are prompted to do so.
After that, just slide the iTunes & App Store under the Face ID and turn it "ON."
That's it! Now that the Setting is enabled, you will be asked for the Face ID scan every time you buy something on the App Store. Doing this will also use Face ID for authenticating purchases made through Apple Pay. In the same way, it will also be used for the purchases made on the iTunes Store and the iBooks Store.
Using It For The First Time
As already told, once you have enabled Face ID in the iTunes and App Store settings, you will be asked for the Face ID scan every time you download something from the App Store or make a purchase. So all you have to do is, follow these usual steps.
Launch the App Store on your iPhone X device.
Select the app that you want to download or purchase.
If it's a paid app, tap over the price mentioned. If it’s a free app, tap on the Get button.
When you are prompted to make payment, double click the side button on the right side of the phone. This will initiate the Face ID.
Finally, look into the True Depth camera of your iPhone X to complete the payment.
That's how you validate your App Store purchases using Face ID on your iPhone X device. In the same way, you can make purchases on the iTunes Store and iBooks Store.
